Athletic Boosters’ Scholarship
In 1994, the FCHS Athletic Booster Club introduced the John Morris Scholarship – named after a former Asst. DSA, teacher, and coach at Falls Church – to honor student athletes embodying sportsmanship, commitment, and dedication. In 2020, we renamed the scholarship to include Jeanne Kelly. Jeanne Kelly served the FCHS Activities office for 17 years and retired in 2020 as the DSA. Each year, we award at least two $1,500 scholarships to support further education.
Funding for scholarships is part of FCHS’ Athletic Booster budget. Additional funding for the 2024-2025 scholarship has been provided by the Chad Kenna Memorial Golf Tournament.
We are updating the John Morris & Jeanne Kelly Scholarship plaque. We are missing information for the winners from 2004, 2005, 2006, and the girl winner from 2008. (See the link). Email us at info@fchsathleticboosters.org if you can provide any details.
2025 Scholarship Application
The FCHS Athletic Boosters 2025 John Morris & Jeanne Kelly Scholarship application will be available in the Spring of 2025. Applicants need a recommendation from a Falls Church High School coach, which is part of the application process.
At least two $1,500 scholarships will be awarded this Spring. The award will assist at least one male and one female student athlete to meet expenses for further education (no more than 4 scholarships will be awarded in any one year). The scholarship may be used for education expenses at either a two or four-year college or university or at a technical/vocational school. Students are selected based on sportsmanship, commitment, dedication, sacrifice, and loyalty.
Any applications mailed to Falls Church High School will not be reviewed. Late applications will not be accepted. Only fully completed applications will be reviewed by the Boosters’ Scholarship Committee (including both student and coach-provided information).
